Here are 5 Reasons to engage in Strength Training

Enjoying your life with the comfort of your peer seems to be an exciting life, but then again, if you are fat, chances are, you are not going to enjoy the life you always wanted.  That is what an average Joe is facing most of the time.  They want to be the center of attraction, yet they aren’t that fit to be in.   They always gets sideline and that is not a great experience for anyone.   But, if you are fitter than you would be enjoying your life a lot better since you would get appreciated by most of your peers.
Engaging is strength training has its benefits.

Having said that, too many people are going to the thread mill or to do jogging as they believe that it could help them burn some calories.  Though, it is true that they are burning some calories while they are jogging or spending a few minutes in the treadmill, the burning stops once you stop moving.   You might think that this is just alright since that is how the world is made, but the truth is that it doesn’t have to be that way.

Here are the benefits of strength training:

  1. Increased metabolic rate – Burning calories while sleeping sounds to be one of those exercise myths that you heard off, but this is true.   Muscle burns calories and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn even if you are resting.   The burning of calories continues for a whole day.
  2. Increased Strength for everyday work – another benefit that you could get from strength training is increased energy.   You might not notice it, but some of your friends might notice it as you are able to walk faster and further than before.  You are able to carry lots of grocery without even getting tired.  If you participate in sports then your performance would be better than before.
  3. Muscle Tone and Definition – You would have a great body, though it might not look like that of a body builder, your looks would surely improve over time.  It will give your body shape a total makeover if you have a stout body before.  If you do lots of cardio then your body would be smaller, but strength training does the opposite of that and would give your body a better definition.
  4. Increased Bone Strength – As we grow older, our bones become brittle and if we aren’t going to exercise then there comes a time when you would just notice that it is easier to be injured by doing some simple tasks.   Don’t worry as it could be improve through the use of strength training.
  5. Enhanced Insulin Sensitivity – While you are still young, you don’t need to worry about your insulin level since there isn’t a problem with it.  But, as you grow older, you would notice some changes in your body.   You would get weaker and you are getting prone to a lot of diseases.  It turns out that you already have diabetes.  Most diabetic find out about their disease too late as they abused their body too much while they were younger.   When you are diabetic, you tend to get tired easily and your immune system is awfully weaker than before.  Fortunately, you can still take control of your life through regular strength training.
